    • W.4.2: Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.

  • Supporting Questions:
    • What is the Progressive Era?
    • What is child labor?

  • Objectives:
    • After reading the article and our class discussion, students will be able to describe what the 
      Progressive Era is in a short paragraph with at least four details about when the Progressive Era was, two major issues that occurred, and a fact that they found interesting.
    • After the picture presentations and our class discussion, the students will create an acrostic poem describing what was happening in at least two pictures from the Progressive Era  
This lesson can be completed over the course of two days. The first day, the students will be learning about the Progressive Era through the article. During the second day students will participate in whole class discussion after analyzing photographs.
