Overview 

  • Guiding Question:
    • Is child labor wrong in today’s world based on what we know about child labor during the Progressive Era?
  • Assessment:
    • The summative assessment for the unit plan would be to have the students write a letter, petition, or a speech for or against child labor today. They will be using the information from the unit to defend their stand.
  • Objective:
    • After spending 6 weeks learning about Child Labor during the Progressive Era, students will be able to explain their stand on child labor today using at least four supporting details from information learned throughout the unit. 
  • Standards:
    • SS.4.22. Develop a claim about the past and cite evidence to support it.
